Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

What language should my company use when requesting the use of client's logo in advertising? We plan on showing that our company works with these other companies and have their endorsement. Thanks!

There really is no magic incantation so to speak, you really just want to get a writing from someone of authority at the company that states that they give you permission to use their trademarks in this context.

While you would not require permission to use their name in this context, using the logos may be considered "more than what is necessary." But if it is the case where you are using a multitude a logos from different companies it mitigates any one company's claim of market confusion. That said, I think it's smart to get permission as you suggest especially from clients. I mean what is the point of ticking off your customers.

If you would like to discuss further over a free phone consult or ever have any other legal concern, feel free to contact me anytime that is convenient.

Kind regards,

Frank
