Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My employer was asking me to participate in unethical behavior, (lying to the general contractor about materials being delivered that were not actually delivered), and when I spoke up to my employer about how I felt about this, I was informed that my pay is now cut from $31 an hour to $8.75 and my duties will be changed. Is this legal and what recourse do I have?

It may be fraudulent behavior, but do you want to be involved in it?

As far as your pay cut, unless you have an employment contract, you are an at-will employee, subject to termination at any time.

You should file for unemployment based upon the reduction in wages and look for another job with a more ethical employer.
