Legal Question in Mediation in New York

Suing Small Claims out of State

Dear unknown attorney,

I am the owner of a website that hired a designer outside of my own state (my business is in Washington and I hired a person from Brooklyn, NY. I am seeking restitution for unfinished work, but I am unsure where and how I should file this. Any suggestions? Where is juristiction here?

Your best bet would be to file your case in the county where the defendant resides, this being Kings County (Brooklyn)...we would be happy to accommodate you for a reasonable charge however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
