Legal Question

If my employer who is also a surgical doctor perform surgery on a patient, the surgery did not come out as planned (basically he broke her foot) , and then he downplay(basically lied to the patient) the botch job, what is my role as a medical assistant knowing what he did is illegal nd ethically wrong?
