Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

Switching Lawyers

I had a medical malpractice suit filed over 10 years ago, due to injuries my son received during his birth. My lawyer has not made any head way in this case. He states that the hospital is still in bankruptcy (7 yrs). Does it take that long for a bankrupcty process and can I switch laywers if I feel that this laywer is not supply adequate service.

Re: Switching Lawyers

a client can alwats switch lawyers but there is no guarantee that the new lawyer will be able to move the case any faster. I usually recommend talking honestly with your current lawyer and if you cannot reach an understanding then explore finding a new lawyer.
