Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

My friend has shot me with a pellet gun on his property it doesn't have the orange tip on it he did it for pure fun he wasn't using it for defense and now i am bleeding can I sue him for what he has done even though I was on his property or what could I do

Yes, you can sue. The issue is whether you will successful.

Do you have evidence that you were shot on his property and he did it?

Did you call the police as a result of the incident?

Do you have witnesses?

Do you have documents (e-mails, texts, etc.) in which he admits he did it?

Even if you win does he have insurance coverage, assets, or income to pay the judgment?

All these questions are important to determine if you will be successful in the suit, and if you can collect a judgment should you win.
