Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Injury from spa treatment?

Over the weekend (12/31/06),I was at my local grooming salon to have my biweekly eyebra waxed. The person who performed these services left the wax on too long and removed the epidermal layer of my skin. With the unbelievable pain/scar that this has caused, I wanted to know if this is something I should pursue legally?

Re: Injury from spa treatment?

You might consider it...but first get your injury treated and get a prognosis, Hopefully, it will be a short lived scar, not something permanent.

In the event that it is permanent, feel free to contact me for a free consult by phone. I have a Bronx office but call the main number in the 845 area code at 8782163.

Good Luck

Re: Injury from spa treatment?

While I can't tell you if this is something you SHOULD pursue, it's certainly something you COULD pursue. The spa is liable for the negligence of its workers. A letter to the spa's insurance company followed by sending copies of your medical bills should result in a relatively swift settlement.

I handle cases like this all the time. If you would like a free consultation, you can contact me via email. My firm's offices are in midtown Manhattan and in Westchester.

Happy New Year!

Re: Injury from spa treatment?

Before considering a lawsuit, there is the question of medical proof. Have you been to a doctor yet?

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.

Re: Injury from spa treatment?

Based on the info provided it appears you have a cause of action. However, collecting on a judgment against a small business/corporation usually depends on whether/type/amount of insurance they carry.

This info is usually "discovered" after a claim is commenced.
