Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

My landscaper insisted that I sign a $900 contract. One ting he did was to cut a live branch instead of the dead branches form this precious tree we had planted a couple years ago. Am I entitled to the $900 for breach of contract or a part of it (if so how is that determined)

Your damages, if any, is the extent of harm to your tree; the long and short term effects and whether you can quantify the value before the branch was cut off and after the fact. You may not breach your whole contract premised on one act; one branch.
