Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

is it mandatory to respond to a subpeona that was sent from a lawyer in a civil case.

It is not signed by a judge, but by the defendants lawyer and i am a witness in this

personal injury case.

You can get fined for not responding to a subpoena. However, if you want the subpoena "so ordered" by a judge, call the defense counsel and ask that the subpoena is signed by the judge.
