Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I bought land on a tax auction. Land was owned by a Land corporation until 1982. The land corp officially dissolved in 1982. The lot in question has what is called a common area. Since land corp stopped paying taxes, then dissolved it was sold to private party.. Do I have to abide to the common area rules? (Allow local land owners to park cars.etc)

Thank you

Much depends on exact facts...but most likely you are still bound by those rules because you don't own the property: you are a lienor not an owner. In most counties, you have to enforce the tax lien through foreclosure. Feel free to contact me if you want more info 516-242-1453
