Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

my ex gave me an expensive watch to wear that was his when we were together. When we stopped seeing each other, I reached out to him to give it back. He said he was busy at the times I suggested but maybe in a couple weeks. It has been two months. Does this property become mine? Can i sell it?

If it was a gift, with no conditions, it is yours.

In New York it depends. If he only gave you the watch to wear then he is still the owner and you need to return the watch to him. However, if the watch was a gift without any co editions, then it is your watch.

I agree, it depends on what was his intent - gift or loan? Gift is yours, loan is his. If he does not come to pick it up, you are still obligated to return it. I suggest proper packing and mailing it, with proof of delievry.
