Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Hi - I Live in florida and my wife and her 3 siblings sold a house in NY (Queens) in September 2016. There was a $10000. escrow that is being held by our lawyer (the escrow agent.) The buyer's Lawyer refuses to sign a release of the funds due to problems the buyers have. The escrow term was for 60 days and they have never told us what the issues were. we are now at 120 days since the escrow agreement.

The big question is what is your attorney telling you that he is doing to obtain a release if your funds. He has obligation to resolve this or at worse put the money with the county clerk
