Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New York

Is There Justice...

Im 18, and I was wondering if I can press charges (sexual harrasment) on someone. This man keeps on making lude comments and telling me explict things hed like to do with me and so fort and I was wondering if I press charges will this help me feel safe. Because i see this person everymorning on my way to school and I just want to feel safe again. He works as a security guard and I told him to stop saying these things to me cause they make me uncomfortable and he told me he could have me banned from the ''mall'' and have charges pressed on me for tresspassing if I didnt give him what he wanted. This happened recently, April 4, 2008, and my friend said I can press charges when I told her what he said to me. He had me and my friend removed from the ''mall'' and said we was banned from there. They gave us no reason as to why we was banned all he said was i want her ''me'' banned from here permantly. So I have no place to shop now or hang at I have to go out of town for those things which inconvinence me. is there anything i can do to get justice? mycousin spoke to her lawyer and he siad that they cant ban someone from a place for their whole lifes just for a set amount of time. is this tru? plz help me because im confused on what i can do?.

Re: Is There Justice...

You should file a complaint with the local police.

You do not need to allow this to continue.

You have a right to visit the mall without being harassed.

I would, however, like to know why you need to visit this mall daily?

Are you buying food on your way to school?

In what grade are you?
