Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Confused

My friend got a ticket for turning left when she wasn't supposed to, but saw the sign too late. They sent her a court date and she attended. They said she had to come back to get a date for school and couldn't just pay a fine. They said they would send a letter for a new court date but she never received it. They sent her a letter saying her license was going to be suspended if she didn't come to court. She called the court and they said to come the next time it was open but it was closed due to snow, so she just figured she'd go this week. When she was driving this morning, she got ticketed for driving on a suspended license, which she was not aware of, as she tried to comply with what they told her to do. What can be done about this other than calling the court Tuesday?

Re: Confused

Even though you can be confused by what happened, you certainly have a problem as you have now been charged with a crime - a misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license

You need a lawyer to clear it up. Before contacting the court, you must realize that what you say can be used against you.
