radar detectors

my daughter got a 1180b 69 in a 55. had lic 4 about 6 mon. and completed driver ed. my ? is the officer did not give a model of detector. does that matter? also how often is the calibration supposed to be done. court is wed 9/27 hoping to plea down w/ da but not sure how it will go seens how my daughter is only 17.thanks

When you go to court, ask to speak to police offer and explain she is new driver, etc. If this is 1st offense, they will prob offer to reduce to "failure to obey a traffic device."

Your question sounds like you are going to try and plead not guilty. May not be a good idea.

You may actually be "lucky" that your 17 year old got a speeeing ticket. Perhaps she'll be EXTRA careful from here on.
