Re: statue of limitations/tickets

If I understand your question correctly it appears that you have some old tickets you never handled and you want to know what to do with them. My answer depends highly on what I believe the facts to be from your brief description, but it may change depending on the exact facts involved.

If I did correctly understand your question, there is generally no "time limit" whereby tickets just expire if you don't take care of them. There is a time limit for how long after an offense a ticket may be written, but it sounds like these tickets were written at the time they happened and you just didn't go to Court or get them straightened out.

Depending on your exact circumstances, there is a chance that you have an argument the prosecutor didn't diligently follow-up on these matters, however, that won't really work if you got Court notices, etc. and just never went. I would have to see exactly what has been going on and talk to you about the specifics before I could fully analyze your situation.

If you wish to handle these tickets now, there are several steps involved, but be careful because there could be warrants for your arrest if you never showed to Court on these matters. I offer free consultations and would be glad to discuss the matter further with you if it is in a South Jersey Court.

Thanks,

Re: statue of limitations/tickets

The normal statute of limitations for tickets with regard to the point system is 18 months. The record of the conviction stays on the computer print out for considerably longer.
