Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I am the executor of my parents' estate. They rented an apartment in Westchester County in New York State and a brother lived there also for many years. While waiting to be officially named executor, another brother misrepresented himself as the representative for the estate and signed a new lease with the company that owns the apartment. The new lease is in the name of the estate with him signing as representative. He told me the apartment was no longer in my parents' name and was now in the name of the brother who lived with my parents and that the brother who misrepresented himself was the financial backer. I contacted the landlord to be sure and found out I was lied to. The landlord also told me they make no financial agreements where someone backs the person living in an apartment. They told me the estate is responsible. I am also upset that the landlord asked for nothing that would prove my brother was the representative. I recently presented them with my parents' death certificates an my letter testimentary. I would have never let the apartment go on in the estates name. I was in the process of contacting every organization my parents had dealings with to end everything in their names. I never got the chance with the apartment because this new lease was made, illegally as far as I'm concerned. Thank you so much for any help you can give.
