Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

My father-in-law passed away in September of 2013. He has credit card liens on his house totaling close to 200,000. My brother-in-law is in probate waiting for a decision from the court on the house. Is there a statute of limitations on when this has to be settled?

No statute of limitations. Complicated estates with problems like these can take much longer to settle, especially with these liens.
