Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nigeria

Courier Service Fee

My wifes father recently past away and he has some property back in Nigeria, Africa. I was told from my wife who is out there taking care the legal procedure that there is a couriers fee to pay in able for her to receive the property payment to have it transfer in america.

Can pls give me some detail info on what to do in this situation and what is the legal procedure for something like this..

This courier fees smells like a scam. I am a lawyer in Nigeria and I do not know of any such fees.

This reads like some of the scams that have been presented over the internet. Request that the courier fee be deducted from the amount she is to receive. She should contact a family friend or other person that lives there to learn more about the situation.
