Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina

I am renting an apartment. I renewed the lease two weeks ago and the apartment complex started a mandatory "upgrade" on my apartment. After 6 days of work, they are now done and the work has been horribly done. I have requested all upgrade work be redone. The apartment is refusing to do this. I have handed them a "punch list" of all repairs needed to make the "upgrade" to the standard of the apartment before the work was started. What legal rights do I have? Can I get out of my lease if they refuse to make the fixes?

Unless the repairs affect the habitability of the home, terminating the lease is not an option, Make a list of the defective repairs (keep in mind aesthetics is not enough) and send this list to the landlord. If they don't make the repairs, speak to a landlord tenant attorney to see what claims you may have.
