Legal Question

I received a summons from Palasaids Collections, who took over my defaulted GE Money Bank (Care Credit). I defaulted due to being disabled & out of work for 3 months. I can't afford a lawyer or to pay this back. It's over $8,000.00 now, after interest & penalties. What can I do?
