Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

I was arrested on a FTA and was gived a $500 bond. The bondsman got me out for 200. Then I missed court and another warrant was issued. I am a single parent of a 2 yr old and cant go to jail for any amount of time. How do I clear this matter up?

Your first line of defense is to not screw up in the first place so that you don't have to deal with things like FTA's. But if you do screw up (and everyone does once in a while) you clear it up by being a grown responsible adult who doesn't miss court dates. This is common sense stuff your mother should have taught you. If you had a $500 bond then your FTA was most likely for something stupid and minor like a traffic ticket or a bad check. You most likely could have taken care of this completely by hiring an attorney for less than you have wasted on bondsmen. Grow up, put on your big girl panties and properly take care of your business - especially if you are responsible for a child. If you can't or don't want to do that, don't worry - the state will take care of your child while your in jail.
