Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Can a parenting coordinator force me to turn over property to my ex?

The ipad in question has been in my soul possession for 3+ years and is used by my daughter and myself. There is no mention of it in the divorce settlement and my ex wiped it clean before we moved so all information and accounts attached to it are mine. I would rather he not have access to my personal information as there have been issue with him tampering and locking computers in the past. He has other ipads and devices at his disposal.

Can the parenting coordinator decided that this is joint property and force me to send it with my daughter each time she goes to my ex?

A parenting coordinator is basically a hall monitor for parents who can't act right and like a hall monitor their basic authority is to tattle. A parenting coordinators authority is set either by the parents and / or the court. If the ipad isn't specifically listed or covered as one of the things the parenting coordinator has authority over then no the parenting coordinator can't make you give it over. Even if it is something the parenting coordinator has authority over, they still can't 'make' or 'force' you give it over but if you refuse they may be able to show cause you for contempt in which case you had better have a good reason for not giving it over. Unless the ipad belongs to your ex - not wanting him to have access to your personal info would likely be a good reason.
