what are the requirments for taking care of yourself when you are trying to get emancipated from you parent?

The primary requirement is that you can clearly show you have the means to support yourself. This is difficult in most cases because for one most landlords won't lease to minors. This is because minors can't be bound to contracts, so if a minor leases an apartment and then lease, the landlord can't sue because the contract is not binding.

If you are serious about emancipation you need an attorney. Hiring and paying for an attorney is a good sign that you can support yourself.
