Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

Attorney Fees

My ex-husband won a suit against me last year. His attorney stated, in court, in response to the Judge's question, that she did not want attorney fees charged to me. Yet, I just received a Motion from this attorney asking that I be ordered to pay her attorney fees. Do I have to pay these fees, even after she stated she wasn't seeking them and after a year?

Re: Attorney Fees

You need to consult a lawyer with more information. In general, a party is often not allowed to back out of an agreement (e.g. waiving attorneys fees), and there may be procedural limitations on the ability to recover the fees. The question is really too abstract to answer, and you will in any event almost necessarily need a lawyer to represent you in court.
