Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

Business Package

My friend owns a cleaning business and is insured and bonded. One of her customers told her when she was hired that her previous cleaning lady had damaged her floor and her tub and that's why she hired my friend. Now she is trying to say my friend did the damage and wants her to pay for it. What should she do?

Re: Business Package

There are a couple of things she can do. She can simply deal with this herself (i.e. reject the claim, or pay it); or, she can turn the matter over to her insurance company (presumably she has liability insurance). Based on these facts, the insurer will hopefully deny the claim (as it was pre-existing damage). She may of course want to contact an attorney with more information to discuss this with him or her.
