Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

my wifes brother wants to come do some yard work for me. But if he gets hurt I know he will try to sue me. is there any way I can let him work and sign a contract that says I am not responsible if he gets hurt. I live in NC.

If this is a serious concern of yours, I would recommend that you not have the brother in law work for you. The enforceability of such an agreement is speculative at best. There are a series of different laws that could make you responsible for any injury he has while working for you, and you typically can't contract those away very easily.
