holding last paycheck
after giving a three week notice to my employer they let me go in two.which was fine.now they are saying that they are holding my last paycheck until i write a letter of resignation.is this legal?

No, that is illegal under the Wage and Hour Act. Call the Department of Labor for help. Their no. is 1 800-NC-LABOR. Good luck!
