Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

since i had a sit down meeting with my boss in which i told him i was unhappy with the lack of abilities with my fellow coworkers, i was told to lay low and not speak to him, my hours were cut soon after, he made an unecassay comment to me a few days ago and i was not even on the clock at the time. i contacted hr and was told they would contact me back 3-5 business days later which has not happened. i suffer from depression which has been affecting more since this has been an ongoing thing for a few months, and its affecting my life outside of work, what do i do? i do not enjoy going to work anymore, but i have 15 years in what i do and i don't want to toss it away because my boss is inappropriate. also, he is new to our store(6 months or so) and i never had issues like this before he came.

Unfortunately, there is little you can do. If you can show that your boss is creating a hostile work environment, you can have a lawsuit...there are no facts here to determine if his comments or actions would rise to this level, especially since you only mentioned one comment.

You can go to HR and explain your depression and how things that are happening are affecting your condition. I recommend you speak to an attorney to discuss your options.
