Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
I asked the property management co that we rent from for the last 5 years to verify that we have paid rent on time every month to give to the new place. The co said they could not per their legal counsel. They sent a form saying we lived there from this date to that date. Can they legally do that? Can I get them to verify more information?

Unfortunately, there is no legal requirement that they give any information. The only rule is that if they do report it must be accurate.
