Hi, I was mowing my landlords property with her mower - for free. The mower broke while mowing. Am I responsible for the repair to the mower? I'm in NC.

It depends on what caused the damage. If you were negligent in its operation and you caused the damage, then likely you are liable. If the lawn mower failed through no fault of yours, then you are most likely not liable. The problem is in proving what caused the damage.
