If a club charges an initiation fee and a yearly membership, are they required to make their finances accessible to its members?

Most likely no rules outside of the organization apply. If they are a private organizaion, the law stays mostly silent as to their rules. You need to check the organization rules and bi-laws to determine if you have the right to look at the books.
