As a passenger, your medical bills should be paid by one of the two insurance companies involved. If the other driver's insurer is denying the claim, and if you believe the other driver (not your girlfriend) was at fault, then you likely need a lawyer to assist you in this matter. If your girlfriend's car has a type of insurance called "medical payments" coverage, then that insurer should pay your bills (up to the limits of the policy) without a significant dispute.
