Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

I have an open claim with BP about the Deepwater Horizon incident concerning my loss of income related to the spill. ]I worked directly with fishing industry but not as a fisherman. I submitted all the documents they requested back in June and they recently came back requesting more. Specifically they want to see 5 years of my bank statements. This has something to do with income in spite of the fact they have my w-2's and tax returns for all of those years. I no longer have the account my funds were going into and hence do not have any way of getting this information. They are also asking for ANOTHER statement from my employer at the time regarding my job and how the spill affected it. I no longer work for that contractor and they no longer have the contract. They feel they have already submitted such a statement and will not be doing so again. Any ideas on how I should proceed?

Sounds to me like you already did a lot of proceeding without an attorney. So it seems to me that basically you just need to decide if you want to hire someone who knows what they are doing or keep proceeding on your own. However, to answer your question and whether you have an attorney or not, common sense and logic dictate that if someone is asking for something and you have exhausted all methods of getting it and can not provide it, then the bottom line is that they are simply going to have to make their decision without it. So perhaps send then a letter that states just that.
