Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

My husband is not a US citizen and we have been married for 17 years. I recently overheard him tell someone he owned land that I did not know about in Lincoln county it was inland but on Lake Norman. He said he didn't have to pay taxes when he bought this land. How can that be, unless he is hiding it in someone elses name. He did not want me to know about this land. This land was purchased during our marriage I do know that. He has owned it for several years. He's having an affair and openly talks with his coworkers about this in danish. He's from Denmark. He puts me down in front of people all th time. How do I find out about this? I also found out that he had told people I was only a green card to him.

If it is in his name the Lincoln County property tax office will have a listing for it. This may be accessible online. IT is a public record. If it is not in his name, then you need more information about it. But someone is paying taxes on it. Maybe he has a check book you don't know about.
