Legal Question in Tax Law in North Carolina

I am divorced (10 years) , live in NC. My ex and I purchased a home together and I was awarded a share of the equity as part of the divorce and the court ordered him to assume the loan and title to the house. He still owes me most of the equity, he lives in the house and pays the mortgage. Can I claim 50% of the property taxes and interest on my income tax report, my name remains on the deed and loan, obviously I don't live there. The house is also in NC.

I am not a tax lawyer but if you don't pay the mortgage and taxes then you cannot claim them as deductions. See a tax professional - a CPA will be able to help you.
