Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

I have a 39 year perfect driving record in NC. Recently I received a ticket in my hybrid for 18 mph over the speed limit. I had to go to bathroom and realised I may have Bern going a little faster than normal but 18 mph! What are my chances of getting a prayer for judgement? The ticket was in wake county.

If you bring a copy of your driving record (which you can get online at the DMV website), you may be able to plead to 9 over the limit and you will not need the PJC. In NC you get one "free" ticket for Insurance and Driving points purposes. If you (nor anyone in your household) has had a ticket in the last 3 years you are eligible. At worst, you will have to take an online driving class to get the ticket reduced to 9 over the limit, but you do not need to use your PJC if it is your first.
