Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

I got a ticket today for 80 in a 65 on US 321 in Catawba County NC. My driving record is good, the officer agreed.

The new DA has a rep of taking every case to the judge. What do you advise?

If the address on your license is a good mailing address for you, you are likely going to be flooded with solicitation letters from traffic attorneys. Just pick the cheapest one and roll with that - you don't need F. Lee Bailey for a traffic ticket. As to your concern about the DA's 'rep' - there is an elected DA and usually several ADA's (Assistant DA's). If you are worried about the DA - don't be - the elected DA will likely NOT be handling your piddly traffic ticket.so you only need be concerned about the ADA handling your case. Further, neither ADA's or the elected DA 'take every case to a judge'. They decide if they are going to prosecute a case and if so, you then get the privilege of pleading guilty or not guilty. Usually however, to save court time and resources DA's and ADA's will offer a reduction of some sort for minor cases. Again, usually - the reduction offered will be better if you have an attorney..
