Legal Question in Family Law in North Dakota

Tribal Custody

My husband who is African American, has a child by a Native American woman, she lives in North Dakota and lives on a Indian Reservation. Can my husband get any kind of custody or does the tribe rule over any laws and has all custody over this child.

Indian tribal counsels have control over placement of children with non parents. A parent of a child has certain rights to visitation and contact with their children.
