Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio

I live in Toledo Ohio and I am a certified dog groomer and I have recently obtained a website and business cards to do small dog grooming in my home as a second job, there are no employees but me. I have been googling and calling and can not seem to get a clear answer. I don't know what I need to be legal, do I need to do anything at all? Or do I need a federal tax id number, a business license etc...Is there a dollar amount that I have to make a year to start paying taxes to the IRS? Please advise! Thanks for your help in this matter.

Any attorney will say you need a business license from your city. You also need to contact the IRS and state tax agencies for an employer i.d. number for your new business. You should contact a good accountant or CPA - they can provide initial and ongoing advice. Consult with a business attorney in your area for specifics.
