Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

banned drug

My son was on a medication for two to three years and that medication was banned from the shelf a couple years ago. I was told that my son may be due some money. Is this true and what steps do I need to take if he is due money?

Thank You

Peggy

Re: banned drug

Depending on the nature of the drug and the nature of the injury that may have been caused by the drug, it is possible that your son may be due compensation. In some cases, persons who took drugs who may not have personal injuries at present still get compensation for medical monitoring if the taking of those drugs are reasonably certain to create increased medical risk in the future.

The best way to determine if you have a medical products liability claim is to contact an attorney who handles these kinds of claims. Peter Obetz, in our Kansas City office, handles these kinds of matters, and may be able to tell you if you have such a claim. He can be reached toll free at 800-452-2526. You will need to tell him the name of the drug, the length of time your son took the drug, and whether your son has any injuries relating to the drug.

I hope this answers your question.
