In Ohio, a collection agency can demand your account and routing number, but there is no legal obligation on your part to give them that information.

In fact, you would be very unwise to give that information to the collection agency since most will empty your account even if they agree to only take a portion. When you pay a collection agency, you should always do so through a money order or cashier's check rather than upon your own account.

One alternative may be to contact the original creditor and see if they will take your payments in the form of a money order or cashier's check. Make sure that your agreement is in writing, or at least acknowledged by an email from them.
