Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Payday loan

My husband just got a call from at work. This woman will not say from what company she is calling, just that she is NOT a collector, just an investigator. Something about white collar crimes division? Anyway, she tells my husband that supposedly, on September 19, 2005 he got a payday loan for $510 at 319% interest. We have NO clue what she is talking about. She keeps telling us that the loan was put out by US National Bank. We have NEVER had a loan with this bank. Now she tells us that at 11am today, she has to call our city because they are going to press three charges against my husband. 1. Violation of federal bank laws, 2. Something to do with a check and 3. Theft by deception. We have until 11am to come up with $2105 to give her or she'll have to go ahead and make the call to our city to have my husband arrested!! I called her back, they won't tell me the name of the organization that she works for, the woman that answered just said this is the front desk, please hold..... What if anything is legal about this?! What should we do?? Please help!

Re: Payday loan

Based only on what you wrote, this sounds like some kind of a scam. I would contact your local police department.
