Legal Question in DUI Law in Ohio

Hello,

I was charged with an OVI, but it was knocked down to a Physical Control Violation and the Influence of Alcohol.

This happened two years ago.

1. A friend said something about everything going away after 3 years. Is this true?

2. Is their any way I can get the charge dropped anymore?

3. Is their any way I can wipe this off my record completley?

Thank you

In Ohio, points for traffic violations (max of 12 before they suspend your drivers license) drop off every two years. But there are no points for a physical control violation since it is not a moving violation. So points against your license are not an issue.

However, just because points drop off (like for speeding ticket) this not mean that the conviction drops off. Rather, the conviction stays on your record forever. The only exception to this is through the process known as expungement. Convictions for certain offenses can be expunged. However, convictions for traffic offenses cannot be expunged.
