An executor only has power after you pass away and you can change your executor at anytime until you pass away. If you sign a new will it will revoke any old will and make any previous appointment of your daughter void. If you want to make sure that your wishes are followed you may want to have your will filed with the probate court where you reside.

You should speak to an estate planning attorney immediately to make sure your wishes are followed.
