Legal Question in Elder Law in Ohio

I am my fathers only child currently i have moved him with me to care for him he is 83"and somewhat still able to do for himself just the cleaning and cooking and mantain bills is what ive been doing however i worry .my dad gave me the okay to get power attorney but im unsure how.and how long will process take?
