Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

where do I begin

My husband and I were married in Jan of 99 and seperated in sept of the same year... I have been trying to get a divorce but I can't find him. I have been told he changed his name etc.. Everytime I go to my local government building I get the run around. Do I have to have a lawyer to do this?? Where do I begin? Legal aid won't help and I am not finacially stable enough to pay for legal help.

I thought since he abandonded me divorce could be granted. We have no common property or kids.

Check the county probate court in the county where he was living to see if you can confirm the name change. You are probably going to have to serve him by newspaper publication once the divorce is filed.
