Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

While going through a custody battle my step daughter was molested by a fathers family member.the familyember was found guilty and received 12 year in prison.is it legal that the courts or the father never told us about it and that that the father intentionally hide it from us?

In Ohio, there is nothing that requires someone to report child abuse unless that person is a teacher or otherwise works with children for a living. However, the fact that the father never told anyone about the problem would be something that could be used against the father to show that he does not have the judgment to be a custodial parent.
