Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Dna testing of child to prove its mine

I had a daughter and the mother said on the stand she was not mine and then would not let me have anything to do with her. Now several years later the mother might lose her and she would be placed in the states care. I never had a DNA test done, can I have one done and would it be possible for me to get custody of my daughter? Please can you help me out? I still care about my daughter.

Thank You

Don

Re: Dna testing of child to prove its mine

You must show sufficient facts to the juvenile court to indicate that it is more than probable that you are the father of the child so the court might order DNA tests for you, Mom and the child. You may have trouble maintaining your parental rights if you have provided no support for over a year.
