My boyfriend beat me up and when the cops got to the house I pressed charges against him and he lied and said I attacked him and now charges have been brought against me and him. Now what? what happens at a pretrial? can I present evidence at a pretrial

Re: domestic violence

Call a criminal defense lawyer. A pretrial is a good time to obtain a favorable plea or a dismissal all together. Both will be difficult to obtain without counsel... Especially if your boyfriend comes represented.

Re: domestic violence

A pretrial conference is held between you, your attorney, (if you have one), and the prosecutor where he tells you what kind of evidence he intends to present against you. You can discuss it with him, but it is not the same as presenting evidence at trial. You should get an attorney to represent you.
